My expeditions: the next ten years

This book is dedicated to those who seek adventures and thirst to find their own path. The book “My Expeditions: the next ten years” contains a candid and very personal account of many expeditions of the famous Russian explorer, Fedor Konyukhov. In this book Fedor Konyukhov writes about his solo unsupported ski expedition to the South Pole; and summit of Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica, before leaving the frozen continent. The author describes his summits of the highest mountains, which concluded his lifelong goal – Seven Summits program on Seven Continents. The book includes a detailed account of the long-distance dog sled race Iditarod, which is also known as the Last Great Race in Alaska. A reader will also learn about the author’s participation in two prestigious around the world solo non-spot yacht races, Vendee Globe and Around Alone. In addition, the book contains summaries of his rowing across the Atlantic Ocean and expedition The Great Silk Road in the steppe of Kalmykia, Russia. Although not a professional athlete and sportsman, Fedor Konyukhov participates in a variety of difficult races. His goal is not to be the first, but to finish the race. Each time he is forced to walk on the edge, and sometimes beyond the edge, which makes him consider that perhaps this could be his last time pushing the limits. Yet, upon his safe return home, he finds a new challenge that will push him to the edge once more. This book is about finding yourself and path in this world. It’s about how to climb our own mountains and discover personal poles, and how to reach one’s wholeness and freedom in the process.
