{"id":9779,"date":"2019-05-09T16:49:59","date_gmt":"2019-05-09T16:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/konyukhov.ru\/?p=9779"},"modified":"2019-05-09T16:49:59","modified_gmt":"2019-05-09T16:49:59","slug":"day-154","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/konyukhov.ru\/en\/day-154\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 154"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oscar Konyukhov reporting from the yacht <i>Australis<\/i>:<\/p>\n<p>On May 9<sup>th<\/sup>, at 3 o\u2019clock in the morning, Fedor Konyukhov\u2019s support team reached the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diego_Ram\u00edrez_Islands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Diego Ramirez Islands<\/a>.\u00a0 As expected, the storm encountered between Puerto Williams and the Diego Ramirez Island has met us with 5-6 meter waves and winds up to 45 knots\/hr.\u00a0 Sailing through a storm like this and experiencing it firsthand has given everyone a glimpse of what Fedor and his row boat has endured.\u00a0 Even now, for everyone present on the <i>Australis<\/i>, it is still simply incomprehensible what the Russian explorer must be experiencing right now and has gone through during the last 5 months on the Southern Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<div class=\"slider-block slider-block--margin-b\">\n            <div class=\"slider-block__inner\">\n              <div class=\"slider-block__list js-slider-block\"><div class=\"slider-block__item\">\n                    <figure>\n                     <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/konyukhov.ru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/090519_17H.jpg\">\n                    <\/figure>\n                  <\/div><div class=\"slider-block__item\">\n                    <figure>\n                     <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/konyukhov.ru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Under-sail-1030x687.jpg\">\n                    <\/figure>\n                  <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>As he approaches the Diego Ramirez Islands, <span lang=\"EN\">Fedor\u2019s row boat will be pushed by the winds dangerously close to the rocks.\u00a0 The <i>Australis<\/i> with the crew on board, will come out to greet him from the windward side of the islands. We will accompany him further into the Drake Passage. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is expected that the May 10<sup>th<\/sup> weather will continue with the storm of 40-45 knot winds from the North and 6-7 meter waves.\u00a0 The wind will push both the <i>Australis<\/i> and Fedor\u2019s row boat further South, towards Antarctica.
