#000000;\">As of today, I have spent two weeks on the water. \u00a0I have crossed the 180<sup>th<\/sup> meridian, or the International Dateline, and entered the Western Hemisphere. \u00a0This happened on the 19<sup>th<\/sup> of December, and as a result, I was able to live the 19<sup>th<\/sup> of December \u2013 St. Nicholas the Wonderworker\u2019s saint\u2019s day &#8211; twice over. \u00a0First in the Eastern, and then in the Western Hemispheres.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As you can see from my path, I am not exactly spoiled by the weather. \u00a0I am in the centre of a small cyclone, where the wind circulates 360 degrees, the waves are chaotic, and the boat is buffeted from side to side. \u00a0It is impossible to travel forward. \u00a0I am trying, at least, to keep her at these coordinates, so that I am not swept again into the Eastern Hemisphere I fought so hard to leave. \u00a0I am forced to move in circles. \u00a0I am not using the sea anchor.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"slider-block slider-block--margin-b\">\n            <div class=\"slider-block__inner\">\n              <div class=\"slider-block__list js-slider-block\"><div class=\"slider-block__item\">\n                    <figure>\n                     <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/konyukhov.ru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/20.12.2018-2nedelivokeane.jpg\">\n                    <\/figure>\n                  <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I will have to withstand these conditions for another day. \u00a0On Saturday, the wind will change to a more favourable South-Westerly. \u00a0According to the log, I\u2019ve travelled 600 miles, which is slightly more than 10% of the entire route.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I did have plans to cover a greater distance in these weeks and be east of Chatham Islands by now, but the might of the Ocean is humbling for any person, especially if you are aboard a rowing boat. \u00a0Thank God for everything \u2013 I am alive and well, the weather is difficult, but it could be worse.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Ocean, you rejoice and pay attention to any small changes &#8211; for example, now it\u2019s almost full Moon. \u00a0In the city, you don\u2019t pay much attention to these sort of things, but here, in the ocean, it is very important: the visibility is good, the deck is well lit by moonlight at night and the mood is more cheerful. \u00a0I was able to boil water and cook hot food \u2013 also a cause for celebration. \u00a0Everything is perceived differently here than on terra firma. \u00a0Every morning I thank my friend Mikhail Yanchenko for preparing capsules with good ground coffee for me.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Today I also launched a seawater desalination unit and re-filled canisters with fresh water. \u00a0The freshwater maker worked well and produced about 25 litres per hour. \u00a0The water is cold in these latitudes and the performance drops (when tested in Europe, the output was 30 litres per hour).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The ocean is still deserted, I have not seen a single boat in the last 12 days. \u00a0It seems that the entire ocean-going fleet is gone. \u00a0In the Atlantic, you see a ship or yacht every day.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">47\u201903 South
